1. What Data We Collect

We collect the following information:

  • Account information: email address, name (if provided)
  • Trading journal entries: ticker, direction, entry/exit prices, notes, screenshots you upload
  • Strategy data: your custom criteria, watchlists, and setup configurations
  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, session duration
  • Device data: browser type, operating system (collected automatically)

We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under the age of 18. The Service is not directed at children. If you believe a minor has provided personal data, contact support@tradescholar.ai and we will delete the account.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To power the platform and provide personalized AI insights
  • To analyze your trading journal and generate coaching feedback
  • To score your trade setups via the Trade Verdict
  • To improve the Service based on usage patterns
  • To send important account notifications

We do not “sell” your personal data as that term is defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), nor do we share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not transfer your data to data brokers, advertisers, or any third party for monetary or other consideration.

3. Data Processors

Supabase

Your data is stored in Supabase, a managed PostgreSQL database platform. Supabase acts as a data processor on our behalf. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Supabase is SOC 2 Type II certified.

Anthropic (Claude API)

When you use the Professor feature (Trade Verdict or Journal Intelligence), your trade data is sent to the Anthropic API for AI analysis. This includes trade details such as ticker, direction, entry price, and your journal notes. Anthropic processes this data to generate responses and does not use it to train their models (per their commercial API terms). We send only the data necessary for the specific analysis you request.

Vercel

The platform is hosted on Vercel. Vercel processes request logs and performance data as part of hosting.

4. Internal Access

To run TradeScholar, support you, and improve the product, a limited number of authorized TradeScholar staff may access your account data — including your trades, journal entries, verdict history, daily notes, strategy configurations, and usage data.

We do this only for specific reasons: to debug problems, respond to your support requests, improve how the platform works, and protect the integrity and security of the Service. Internal access by authorized staff is restricted and recorded in an internal access log.

We do not share this data, sell it, or use it for any purpose other than serving you and improving the Service. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time (see Section 5, Your Rights).

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data: request a copy of all data we hold about you
  • Export your data: download your journal entries and strategies
  • Delete your account: request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Correct your data: update or correct any inaccurate information
  • Withdraw consent: opt out of non-essential data processing

To exercise any of these rights, contact support@tradescholar.ai. We will respond within 30 days.

5a. California Privacy Rights

California residents have the following rights under the CCPA/CPRA, in addition to those listed in Section 5:

  • Right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and (if applicable) sell or share
  • Right to delete personal information we collect from you, subject to legal exceptions
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information
  • Right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (note: we do not sell or share — see Section 2)
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of the above

To exercise any right, email support@tradescholar.ai. We will respond within 45 days as required by law.

5b. International Users

The Service is operated from the United States and stored on infrastructure located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to the transfer, processing, and storage of your information in the United States. For users in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, the legal basis for processing is your consent and our legitimate interest in operating the Service. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

6. Cookies

TradeScholar uses essential cookies only:

  • Authentication cookies: to keep you logged in
  • Preference cookies: to store your appearance settings (light/dark mode)

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, secure authentication, and regular security reviews. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
